Study in Singapore for Indian students who have completed class 10 or 12 in India, makes them eligible for polytechnic courses. Class 12 students are eligible to apply for undergraduate programmes at local universities. For undergraduate programmes, admission is as per the entry requirements for each programme. The criteria for entering Singapore public institutes are generally quite high and competitive. Study in Singapore for international students can also occur through private educational organisations (PEO) which offer courses from Certificate to Postgraduate levels. PEOs conduct their own admissions and applicants should check the application procedure with the PEO directly or seek advice from certified Singapore education Specialists.

The Main intake for the Government University is August and few courses have February intake. The Polytechnics have April/September intake, and the private Education Organisation have multiple intakes (Jan /Feb /July /Aug /Sep /Oct /etc).

Masters:

Master degree programmes are primarily designed to prepare students for practice of profession. The duration of graduate courses may range from one year to two years depending upon the university. The various Master degrees are MA, MS, MBA, MFA etc. Generally, an applicant must have at least a good Bachelor degree and two years work experience. In addition, an applicant whose native language or medium of instruction for the Bachelor degree is not English must have a good TOEFL score or IELTS score. Applicants applying for admission in Engineering, Computer Science, Science should also preferably have good GRE scores. Those applying for business-related courses should have obtained either GRE or GMAT scores.

Graduate Diploma:

Is offered as a terminal qualification and provides limited professional training in a specific niche. The Graduate Diploma is often favored by those students who seek additional exposure to an area of interest. It is one-year full time course of study for graduates.

Diploma In Government Polytechnics In Singapore:

A Polytechnics education is a popular route in snapshot for students inclined towards practise-oriented studies at the diploma level. They offer a wide range of courses such as Engineering, Business Studies, Mass Communication, Design and Info-Communications. Specialised courses such as Optometry, Marine Engineering, Nautical Studies, Nursing, Early Childhood Education and Film are also available for those who wish to forge a specific career path. It takes 3 years to complete a full-time diploma course. Students that have completed class 10 or 12 in India, are eligible for polytechnic courses.

Visa

All International Students interested to study in Singapore need a Student Pass that can be obtained through the Singapore consulate on evidence of confirmed enrollment in an academic programme and evidence of funds in the bank to support the student through the period of education. The Student visa process is done by the institutions themselves. The normal processing time for a new application is about 4 weeks (2 weeks for institutions with EduTrust (PEO) status). However, some applications may take a longer time to process. The local sponsor and education institution will be notified of the outcome of the application by post. To live and work in Singapore, foreign nationals must have a work permit or an employment pass.

Student Pass - In Singapore, every visa is referred to as a ‘Pass’ like Student Pass, employment pass and social visit pass etc.
You must submit new applications for Student Pass at least one month before your course starts and not more than two months. To apply for the Student Pass, you must submit your application on the official registration system -- Student Pass On-Line Application & Registration (SOLAR) system.
