CELPIP

Overview

The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is an English language competency test that is accepted as proof of English language proficiency by a variety of governments, professional organizations, universities, colleges, and employers. The CELPIP Test is available in two versions: the CELPIP-General Test and the CELPIP-General LS Test. The CELPIP-General Test evaluates functional abilities in listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The CELPIP-General LS Test evaluates functional Listening and Speaking skills. You will get access to Sectional Tests that span the skill areas of Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Listening with AESPL online. AESPL also provides simulated mock tests that are identical to the actual test settings. The CELPIP Test is one of the first steps in living and working in Canada. Taking the CELPIP Test has provided an opportunity for many of our test takers to learn about Canada while also demonstrating their English language ability. What to Bring on Test Day

1. Valid Photo Identification

On test day, you must bring the original, valid identification that you used to register for the test, and you must present this identification at check-in. If the identification document that you bring with you on test day does not meet the following requirements, you will not be allowed to take the test, and you will not be able to transfer your test or receive a refund

Your identification document must be the same one you used to register for the test. It must match the registration details you entered during registration, including full name and document number.

3. Your Identification Document must be original

Your identification document must be original. Photocopies or scans of identification are not acceptable.

4. Your Identification Document must be valid

Your identification document must be valid in order for it to be accepted. Invalid identification documents must be renewed before registering for a test.

5. Your Identification Document must be unexpired

Test Confirmation Email

Once registered, you will be emailed a test confirmation email. Make sure to bring a digital or print copy of the email with you to the test sitting.

RULES

Expired Canadian Refugee Protection Claimant Documents must be approved by our office before to taking a test. Please email a scan or picture of your expired Refugee protection claimant papers to info@celpip.ca for approval. On test day, expired refugee protection claimant documents that have not been pre-approved by our office may be rejected. Refused entries will not be refunded or transferred.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

Important: Test takers who fail to present appropriate identification at the time of check-in will be denied entrance to the test and will not be eligible for a refund or transfer. We recommend that if you registered for the CELPIP Test with a passport booklet, you do not send it away for any reason (extensions or visa renewals) before your planned test day. If you are needed to send your passport booklet after you have completed the test or before you register for the test, please do so. You will be denied access to the test if you do not bring your passport booklet or the identification document that you enrolled with at the test sitting. There will be no refunds or transfers.

Test Day Procedures

Check-in You must arrive 45 MINUTES before your scheduled test. Latecomers will not be admitted to the exam and will not be eligible for a refund or a transfer. Your test check-in period ends 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. You will not be admitted to the CELPIP Test if you come after this time, and you will not be entitled to a refund or transfer. You must provide the original, valid ID you used to register for the test. You will not be allowed to take the test if you do not have acceptable identification. It's a good idea to use the restroom before checking in. Your photo identification will be scanned in its entirety. Only your identity is permitted inside the facility.

During the test

Throughout the examination Other test takers may be conversing or typing. The sound of other test takers submitting their responses is a common occurrence in a testing environment. A pen and notepaper will be provided to you, which must be returned at the end of the test. A regular QWERTY English keyboard will be available on your workstation. In the testing room, cellphones and other forbidden objects are not allowed. Raise your hand if you require anything during the test, such as extra notepaper or a bathroom break. You may not converse with other test takers or leave your seat unattended. Your test will not be interrupted for any reason, including bathroom breaks. when you return from a bathroom break

Following the examination

Any problems you have during your test should be reported to the test center staff right away. You must notify Paragon Testing Enterprises at issues@celpip.ca within 48 hours of your test if there was a technical issue that may have influenced your findings. On request, test center workers will supply a contact card. If an issue is reported after the scores have been disclosed or more than 48 hours after the test sitting, no corrective action will be performed. Within 4 to 5 calendar days of your test date, your test results will be available online in your CELPIP account. Once the scores are published online, you can get your official score report from your CELPIP Account.

Important Warning About Cheating

If you cheat on the CELPIP Test, your results may be canceled. Cheating is defined by Paragon as any action (such as memorizing test answers based on prior CELPIP Test questions or submitting a fraudulent score report to a government agency or other entity) that will give you an unfair advantage on the CELPIP Test. These activities could have serious consequences. Paragon reserves the right to report a suspected cheater to a government agency (for example, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) or other entity to whom the test taker is applying for investigation and enforcement

Test Day Rules

Bathroom Breaks:- Before entering the test room, test participants are encouraged to use the restroom. CELPIP tests are timed and will not be interrupted. Those who need to use the restroom during the test should raise their hand so that test center staff can accompany them.

Children:-Children are not permitted in the testing room, and test-takers are not permitted to take breaks to feed or care for a child. Unsupervised children are not the responsibility of Paragon Testing Enterprises or the exam center. If test takers attempt to leave youngsters unattended outside the testing room, they will be denied access.

What is the CELPIP - General LS?

The CELPIP – General LS evaluates test taker's English listening and speaking skills and is officially designated for citizenship applications by IRCC, and is also accepted for professional designations.

CELPIP Band Scores

Each component of the CELPIP-General Test and the CELPIP-General LS Test is given a CELPIP level. Below is a chart of each CELPIP level and its corresponding description. Since the CELPIP test scores have been calibrated against the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels, we have included the CLB level equivalencies for your information.

MAXIMUM SCORE

Score range – In CELPIP the maximum score is 12. In IELTS the maximum score is 9. Therefore, to calculate the CLB of Canadian immigration programs, different scores are considered for each exam (see below for CLB equivalence).

IELTS is the most common English test in the world for higher education and overseas immigration. It continues the significant role that IELTS has long played in language and abroad studies at all the English speaking countries. GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test is a world-renowned entrance exam for students seeking to be enrolled in graduate management programs at management higher education institutions worldwide. The GMAT is designed to assist graduate business schools in evaluating candidates' qualifications for advanced business and management research. More than 3,000 graduate management programs worldwide use GMAT scores and selected Indian B-Schools also accept GMAT scores.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that evaluates the verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills of students intending to study abroad. The exam aims to assist Graduate Schools in determining the capacity for advanced study in applicants.
GRE test is required for those applicants who wish to pursue admission to graduate programs primarily in the fields of engineering and science at educational institutions in the United States.

SAT test syllabus contains courses that have been learned by the students in their school over the years. And if you're successful at school studies, you shouldn't face any SAT Syllabus-preparing difficulties. SAT Exams have two types: SAT General Test and SAT Subject Test.
The SAT is a 3-hour test which measures, 1) Reading and Writing based on facts, and 2) reasoning skills in math. The SAT also has an optional 50 minute Essay writing section. The score for Evidenced-based Reading and Math will be measured on a scale of 800 points making a total of 1600 points each. The ranking for an essay varies from 2-8 points.

TOEFL is a standardized test of English proficiency skills that measures English language abilities in listening, reading, writing and speaking areas. Candidates wishing to study at a degree or graduate level are expected to take the TOEFL to show their English skills. The exam is offered 30-40 times a year and is approved in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Canada by all institutions in the USA & some institutions.
The TOEFL iBT lasts about four and a half hours and is taken absolutely online. The score is from 120 and is valid for two years. The TOEFL iBT registration requires a valid passport and a 170 USD towards exam fee. The registration closes seven days prior to the test.

PTE Academic is a computer-based English-language academic test targeted at non-native English speakers who wish to study abroad in English speaking countries. PTE test measures the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
Questions mostly evaluate two skills at same time, such as listening and speaking, or reading and speaking. The entire test is conducted in a single session, lasting 3 hours, and is taken in a safe test area, sitting at a computer.
