With effect from November 16, 2021, the conducting organisation has also reduced the PTE exam's overall time from three hours to two hours.

The two-hour computer-based PTE test's syllabus emphasises conversational English rather than high-level English, and it assesses a candidate's proficiency in understanding the language as it is used in daily life. The PTE exam's multi-level grading structure guarantees a better comprehension of the student's English language skills.

PTE Academic stands out from other English language proficiency examinations for a variety of reasons. The scoring methodology and outcomes are the primary identifying features of the same. The PTE results and scores are released significantly sooner, usually in two business days, due to the exams' complete computerization. This makes it ideal for students who are a little pressed for time. People planning to take the PTE Academic Exam

How to Start PTE Exam Preparation?

Identify your desired score.

Knowing your present level of English proficiency and the PTE score you need to reach is an excellent place to start. Our Scored Practice Tests will assist you in comprehending the score that you may receive on the actual exam. In addition, it provides you with individual results for each of the communicative skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing), allowing you to identify any areas in which you may need to make improvements to achieve the desired score.

Recognize the test's scoring system.

The PTE Academic uses 100% machine scoring for all questions, ensuring fairness, accuracy, and consistency in all test results. Each test taker receives a score indicating their level of English proficiency, ranging from 10 to 90. Formal elements apply to how your response is presented, such as if it considerably exceeds or falls short of the word limit for a specific item type. Your skills in areas like oral fluency, pronunciation, and comprehension all contribute to how well you respond. This collection of skills is referred to as your "Skills Profile." Your Skills Profile, which details your performance in eight language skill categories like "Short Writing" and "Multiple-skills comprehension," will be sent alongside your Score Report.

Carefully read all test instructions

Not reading the directions can be a serious error. Before you start, make sure you are aware of what is expected of you. Is there just one right response? Or several responses? Is there a single question or two in the essay prompt? Your response will be considered incomplete and will lower your score if there are two questions and you only respond to one of them.

What is the best PTE score?

PTE Academic provides scores ranging from 10-90 on the Global English Scale, which can be accurately measured. The best score is 85-90, and the CEFR equivalent is C2 with an IELTS equivalent of Band 9. This score denotes the highest levels of English prowess. This means that aspirants can quickly summarise data from various written and spoken sources and understand everything they read or hear. They can easily reconstruct accounts or arguments while speaking fluently, spontaneously, and accurately, switching between subtle nuances of meaning as needed.

A PTE score of 76-84 is also acceptable. This is equivalent to a CEFR C1 and an IELTS Band Score of 7-8. This score is required by a number of institutions and countries, including the Australian Skilled Migration Visa authority. This indicates a high level of English proficiency, which is primarily required for undergraduate programmes. This score indicates that aspirants can comprehend a wide range of lengthy and complex texts while also expressing themselves spontaneously and without difficulty. They can use language for a variety of purposes while producing detailed and neatly structured texts dealing with complex issues. They can also demonstrate command of connectors and other organisational aspects.

A thorough examination of the PTE Results and Scores will provide a better understanding of the exam and the process of calculating PTE scores.

The Pearson Test of English (PTE) assesses applicants' English speaking and writing abilities. The PTE exam format is intended to assess candidates' ability to study at foreign universities where English is the primary language of instruction. Students' PTE results reflect their ability to interpret, speak, and write in English appropriately in a foreign land. The PTE exam structure is comparable to that of many other English testing examinations. It stresses three sections: reading, listening, and speaking and writing.
