Campus: GLS Campus Berlin
Location: Frankfurter Allee 40, 10247 Berlin, Germany

Facilities
Sprachenatelier offers participants registered for German courses assistance with finding accommodation in close proximity to the school, often in an apartment, a room in a shared apartment, a hotel or a hostel.

Please note that we can only offer our students assistance with their search for an accommodation if they are at least 18 years old.Prices for a room in a shared apartment vary between 300 to 400€ per month, depending on the size and furnishing of the room. Although we do our best to fulfill the accommodation requirements of all of our students, it is important for course participants to note that early registration improves the likelihood of finding the desired form of accommodation.

Hostels are the best accommodation for short durations (less than one month), as they are inexpensive, starting at 10€ per night. Sprachenatelier also can make arrangements for course participants to stay in a room in one of the student dormitories of the Berliner Studentenwerk. Staying with a host family in Berlin is a good option for younger students.

Hostels : Hostels offer budget accommodation for backpackers and other individual travelers who seek a more communal environment and contact with other young people while valuing inexpensive prices over privacy or luxury. Hostels offer rooms with multiple beds, typically ranging from two beds (more expensive) up to 12 or more (less expensive).

Sprachenatelier cooperates with the following hostels, all of which are conveniently located near the school: Odyssee Globetrotter Hostel I The Sunflower Hostel I U inn Berlin Hostel

Student-shared flat Another form of accommodation for students who wish to have daily contact with other (especially German-speaking) people is to rent a room in a shared flat (Wohngemeinschaft - WG for short). Berlin WGs vary greatly in occupancy—from two to 20 housemates. Whether it's sharing breakfast, cooking, talking or partying, a room in a shared flat provides students with opportunities to socialize in German and is a good option for a long or short stay.

Berlin also has an array of city magazines and daily newspaper which list room and apartment rentals. The current monthly price for a room in a shared apartment ranges from 200 to 400 Euros.

Scholarship
Scholarships As an international student, the financing of your studies is most likely one of your main concerns. While the cost of attending a university in Germany is, compared to many other countries, relatively inexpensive, students should still expect to need at least 670 € a month to pay for their living expenses, including rent.

Some international students cover their expenses with their own personal savings or from the support of their parent(s) or relative(s). Others rely on funding from a scholarship granted by an organization in their home country or in Germany.

It is very difficult for international students to find scholarships once in Germany. We therefore encourage you to begin your search for scholarships early, while you are still in your home country. The international office of the university in your homeland, as well as the German embassy or consulate (s), may have information on scholarships for students specifically from your country or your field of study.
